Last week I made my first visit and delivery to the gorgeous spaces at GreenHill Center for NC Art in Greensboro. What a treat!
The Center is home to four unique spaces and I had a bit of time to explore two of them, InFocus Gallery and TheShop, where this delivery was headed.
My batch of upcycled salvaged wood hearts included Windchimed In, created from scrap metal and found fasteners and whiskey barrel oak staves. I'll be so sad and sorry when those oak staves are gone, they are old and hard and colorful and scarred and beautiful!
Another piece, Revive, created from salvaged piano hardware and new copper wire on my old standby, salvaged mill-remnant Eastern red cedar:
And another from the whiskey barrel oak staves, Grow Anyway. I love that she gently bends and bows--in the wind? toward something? to get closer? from some unseen pressure?--into some mystery which we'll leave to our imaginations:
I've got another story to share from my visit to Greensboro, more soon!
